Boise Musical Friends and Maestre are teaming up to resume Completely Free Music Lessons. If you didn’t make it to any of the lessons in 2019, now is your chance to meet up with fellow artists at our new amazing home at Maestre Music + Technology Arts.
Can you relate to any of these:
Picked up a guitar with every intention to play but ended up using it as home decor?
Got frustrated because you don't know where to start and YouTube makes it look so easy?
Sing in the car and/or shower but would rather die than sing around others?
You attempt to sing but, well, you think you sound like a dying whale and really want to improve?
Maybe you sing alright, but want some honest, polite, constructive criticism to get better and grasp a more detailed technical understanding of your craft?
Write lyrics/poetry but don't know how to turn them into a song?
If so, it’s time to dust off that guitar and warm up those vocal cords because we're about to kickstart your singer/songwriter skills with Completely Free Music Lessons - Singer/Songwriter Edition!
In this first lesson, we'll focus on two things: confidence and commitment! During the class, we'll collectively write a simple song and perform it together at the end. If you're an intermediate musician, you're expected to help beginners while taking in some new ideas/information that will be presented!
You will:
Need your own guitar. It can be acoustic or electric. If you don't have one, message me and we'll get you the right one for you! PLEASE don't go buy the cheapest guitar you can find!
Need to practice on your own time the things you've learned in class.
FYI: It's ok to be shy, but know that you will be encouraged to play and sing in front of others. This is a caring, non-judgmental community that collectively wants to see one another grow - it's ok to make mistakes so long as you work on correcting them!
About "Completely Free Music Lessons": Well, what more do you need to know? There is no catch - Maestre Arts simply want to build a strong community of friendly, passionate musicians and does so by giving back through instruction and organization.
